Zacarias Moussaoui may get death sentence

Zacarias Moussaoui. The “20th Highjacker”…

“His arrest on Aug. 16 poses one of the great what-ifs of the war on terrorism—the possibility, remote but tantalizing, that FBI agents working in Minneapolis might have discovered the Sept. 11 hijacking conspiracy before it happened.”….

AS NEWSWEEK.MSNBC.COM REPORTED on Oct. 1, the FBI’s own lawyers decided in early September that the evidence against Zacarias Moussaoui wasn’t strong enough to justify a search warrant and the investigation stalled. But this week’s sweeping federal indictment alleges that Moussaoui was indeed part of the hijacking plot—he was supposed to be the 20th hijacker, according to the Feds—and makes him the primary defendant in the U.S. attempt to convict Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden before the court of world opinion.

Hillary is (apparently) concerned with what Jesus thinks (sometimes)

Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton used Jesus to argue against a House immigration bill that would make illegal presence in the United States a felony.

“It is certainly not in keeping with my understanding of the Scriptures,” Clinton said, according to the Associated Press, “because this bill would literally criminalize the Good Samaritan and probably even Jesus himself.”

Clinton delivered her remarks as the Senate prepared to take up a version of the measure, which passed the House in December.

It’s interesting that she is now concerned about the teachings of Jesus since she has previously voted for pro-partial birth abortion rights. Did she always have WWJD on her mind?

Breaking News: Bush’s poll numbers DOWN!

Breaking news! (not really)

First there was CBS and their rigged poll a few weeks ago showing the president at 34%. Then some other outfit came out with a poll that showed the president at 39% and yet they said, “In his lowest performance numbers ever, the president today in a personal approval, the presidential approval number is 39%.”

From Rush Limbaugh (March 14, 2005):

Everybody said, “Wait a minute! Last week you said it was 34%.” Okay. Now you’ve got this CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll, and their poll says that the president is “the lowest he’s ever been rated,” 36%. Now, this is in their own polls. They don’t specify that, yet when that CBS poll came out, they all reported it. They couldn’t wait to report it. It was one of these stories that just got pounded and pounded and pounded, and as each company or network came out with its own poll that showed a different number, they automatically forgot the 34% CBS number and focused only on their own poll showing the president had “never been lower,” when everybody knew that you had just reported he was lower — and this is why there’s just confusion.

Bird Flu Fears

From the AP:

Scientists say they’ve found a reason bird flu isn’t spreading easily from person to person: The virus concentrates itself too deep in the respiratory tract to be spewed out by coughing and sneezing.

But the virus could change that behavior by genetic mutation, taking a step toward unleashing a worldwide outbreak of lethal flu.

Experts said the new finding doesn’t indicate how likely such a pandemic is. The virus may also need other mutations to take off in the human population, they said. Still, the work suggests a particular sign to watch for in new virus samples to help gauge the danger to humans.

Gas prices

Gasoline is the bloodline that keeps America moving. Our personal vehicles alone guzzle 65 billion gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel each year, and that number is projected to increase by 2.6 percent each year.

Tracking gas prices can feel like a roller coaster ride. They’re down one month, up the next, before shooting up more than 30 percent in a year, like they did from 2003 to 2004. Plus, they’re different depending on where you look. Other countries, and even other states and cities, can have very different gas prices from your local Gas-N-Go. To the average person, it probably seems as though there’s little rhyme or reason to how gas prices are determined. In this article, we will look at the forces that impact the price of gas at the pump, and we’ll find out where your gas money actually goes. Read more >>

Streisand mocks “C student” Bush

From the Drudge Report: Barbra Streisand has launched a new spelling error-ridden dispatch on the Internet — a dispatch that mocks President Bush for being a “C student!”

In her February 28th, 2006 essay, Streisand flubs 11 words, a personal record.

• Irag
• curruption
• dictatoriship
• crediblity
• Adminstration
• warrented
• desperatly
• preceedings
• ouside
• subpoening
• responsibilty

On another note (pun intended), Barbara Streisand is gearing up for one last hurrah…again. For the love of god, Barbara, this time will you keep your promise?

Grasping for ratings

CNBC’s Donny Deutsch took a tactic out of the Keith Olbermanns playbook by gratuitously attacking Bill O’Reilly for the dumbest of reasons, the height of which was when he said that O’Reilly’s use of saying “if you have an arguement about something if you don’t like something’s doing it [sic] - Don’t go to that store! - is a form of terrorism

You probably never heard of this however, because this show barely stays above 70,000.

On January 16th, singer Ted Nugent and his wife, Shemane, appeared on The Big Idea With Donny Deutsch to discuss Nugents new show. Deutsch, for no clear reason brought up the subject of Bill O’Reilly. After playing a clip of O’Reillys appearance on David Lettermans show where Letterman chided the Fox News host over his criticism of Cindy Sheehan, Deutsch called Letterman his “hero” and “a great man” and O’Reilly a “thug” and a “bully” (*yawn).

Deutsch implied that O’Reilly was afraid to come on his show, saying that he’d just give excuses. In reality, Bill O’Reilly, the host of the highest rated program on cable news has absolutely no reason to even consider such an appearance (assuming that he’s every actually been invited) on Deutch’s show, which is one of the lowest rated shows on cable news.

Deutch said that O’Reilly was a perfect example of a supposed atmosphere in America where if you disagree with someone then “you’re wrong, you’re stupid, you’re unamerican” and shamed what he called O’Reillys “odacity to put [Sheehan] down” and DARE say she was being “run by far left elimants” (he forgot to mention that this is true: Code Pink, Michael Moore, Hitler lovers, etc are all Sheehan endorsers).

But wait, it got better: After losing ground on the Sheehan topic, instead of moving on, Deutch actually goes BACK to the O’Reilly/Letterman scuffle! He says it was “out of character” for Letterman to take a position [on a political issue], which is 100% wrong. Letterman frequently takes these positions, and has not beat the more fair and balanced Jay Leno in the ratings for any consistant period for over 6 years. Hmm…that sounds an awful lot like… Donny Deutch…and Keith Olbermann. All 3 go out of their way to bash the right and all 3 are dieing in the ratings war…
